Intelius

Intelius is an intelligence services company based in Bellevue, Washington. The company transforms 20 billion public records into different services like background checks, criminal checks, date checks, property reviews, employment screenings, reverse phone lookups, and many others.

In general, the company caters to everyday consumers looking to make the best everyday decisions concerning the people around them. Consumers could use it to ensure that dating partners, babysitters, house contractors, and other imperative strangers have no checkered pasts (i.e. marriages, crimes).

In the same way, Intelius also offers services designed for businesses. Companies of all sizes can use Intelius’ employment screening services to supplement their hiring procedures. Intelius has gained the approval of HRO Today Magazine for these, ranking the company as one of the top 2 employment screening providers in the United States.

At the behest of clients, Intelius can sift through thousands of dockets, tax filings, real estate deeds, and all kinds of publicly available data. The company can also designate professional researchers to retrieve criminal records from county courthouses all over the US.

Intelius obtains public documents, take their personal data, and puts it in intelligence reports, which are then sold to clients for a reasonable fee. From such records, consumers may know the whereabouts of people, identify owners of certain phone numbers, and more.

Founded only in 2003, Intelius has become one of the fastest growing technology firms in the continent. Deloitte & Touche proclaims it the 127th fastest growing technology company in the entire North America and the eighth in Washington alone. The company also ranks in a similar list by Inc. Magazine for the 500 fastest-growing companies in the US.

From just $18 million in 2004, Intelius’ revenues have grown into $88.5 million by 2007, according to estimates by Inc. Magazine. The Puget Sound Business Journal also concurs with Inc. and Deloitte, citing Intelius as one of Washington’s companies on the rise.

Former Microsoft Network manager Naveen Jain heads the company as CEO and president. He is also the company’s founder.
